Annalena Benini

Annalena Benini’s career path is a branching of words along closely adjacent roads: newspapers, books, from television to literary festivals, a variable trajectory that always leads to the same destination. The first junction is journalism, which led her to "Il Foglio" in 2001 and hence to founding the cultural supplement "Review", which she manages today. Her connection to literature led to the author’s testimonies compiled in La scrittura o la vita (Rizzoli, 2018), showcased during the broad - cast Italian Romance, a film dedicated to Patrizia Cavalli, and the series “Pietre d’inciampo”, written and produced for Rai Storia. After her novel Annalena (Einaudi, 2023) accelerated towards fiction, an exciting and unexpected turn occurred, with her appointment as director of the Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino for the three-year period 2024-2026.
