For Vins Gallico, writing often unfolds in a novel of the noir genre with a view of the sea: from the blue expanse separating Messina from his hometown Reggio Calabria, featured in The God of the Strait, to the Mediterranean backdrop of his literary passions explored in the essay In Marseille with Jean-Claude Izzo. When he is not venturing into imaginative alternate universes (as in Errore 404), Sacha Naspini enjoys exploring the Tuscan countryside, delving into the hidden alleys, homes and secrets of the ancient villages in his beloved Maremma, such as the Roccatederighi of Villa del seminario. Two distinct horizons within the vast Italian landscape to which the narrative gaze might be welcomed.
