Chiara Valerio
Thoughts, numbers and words. Born in Scauri (Latina) in 1978, Chiara Valerio embodies the possibilities of meeting and hybridising contemporary Italian literature and publishing. She holds a degree in mathematics and a Ph.D. in probability calculation and has pursued a career in written, spoken and visual language from various perspectives (as a writer, editor, translator, radio host and art director). She is the author of widely translated non-fiction works and novels, including Così per sempre (Einaudi, 2023) and Chi dice e chi tace (Sellerio, 2024). Since 2022, she has been the curator of the Più libri più liberi programme, the National Small and Medium-sized Publishers Fair, which launched Più libri tutto l‘anno in 2023. Latest work translated to German: Kein Herz, nirgends (nonsolo Verlag, 2024).
