Marina Valensise
Journalist and writer Marina Valensise began with a degree in French literature in Rome, and a doctorate at the École des Hautes Études, Paris. After a scholarship at the Fondazione Einaudi, she worked at the CNR and the University of Calabria, was head of the Special Secretariat of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage (1992-1994), director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Paris (2012-2016) and has been managing director of the INDA Foundation since 2020. A contributor to Il Foglio and columnist for Il Messaggero, her works include Il sole sorge a Sud (Marsilio, 2012, Mondello Special Prize for Travel Narrative), La cultura è come la marmellata (Marsilio, 2016), La Temeraria: Luciana Frassati Gawronska, un romanzo del Novecento (Marseille, 2019, Fiuggi Storia Prize) and Sul baratro (Neri Poz - za, 2022, Rapallo Award).
