Davide Rondoni

Davide Rondoni is among the most authoritative voices in contemporary Italian literature, following in the footsteps of Mario Luzi and Giovanni Testori, an investigator of the Poètes maudits, translator of Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Péguy and Shakespeare, in turn translated into various languages in books and magazine articles. Born in Forli in 1964 he has published numerous collections of poetry and essays with various publishers, winning major awards, and ventured into prose. His novel Se tu fossi qui (San Paolo, 2015) won the Andersen Prize for best book for boys over the age of 15. Rondoni is the Founder of the Centre for Contemporary Poetry at the University of Bologna and the magazine clanDestino, which he directs. He is a columnist for national newspapers and the author of televised theatre, film, documentaries and poetry programmes.
