Cartoonist, musician, director and editor Igort’s varied international artistic career began in the late 1970s in Il pinguino magazine. Among the creators and members of the Valvoline group, he began to establish himself in Europe, America and, above all, Japan in the 1980s, becoming the first westerner to work in the manga industry, also publishing with Kodansha. In Italy he founded Coconino Press in 2000, with which he published 2002‘s 5 è il numero perfetto, a comic novel translated in 21 countries and a film that won numerous international awards. In 2017 he started Oblomov, the current home of his works, the latest of which is Diario di un‘invasione (2022), the second volume of the Ukrainian Notebooks. He also runs "linus" magazine, and the quarterly anthology "alterlinus". Latest book translated to German: Berichte aus der Ukraine – Tagebuch einer Invasion, (Reprodukt, 2023).
