Gian Marco Griffi
“Gian Marco Griffi was born due to circumstances beyond his control, in Alexandria, on 16 December 1976.” This is how the author of Ferrovie del Messico (Laurana, 2022) – a striking success of more than 800 pages with over ten reprints in less than a year – describes himself in the blog created for his literary debut Più segreti degli angeli sono i suicidi (Bookabook, 2017). From a childhood playing in his grandfather’s tobacco shop to managing the Margara Golf Club in Fubine (Alexandria), his biography includes new publishing achievements such as the short story collection Inciampi (Arkadia, 2019) and a novel about soldier Francesco ‘Cesco’ Magetti of the Republican National Railway Guard, which won numerous awards, longlisted for the Strega Prize. Latest work translated to German: Die Eisenbahnen Mexikos (Ullstein, 2024).
