Giulia Caminito’s first three novels all won at least one award, from the Brancati Giovani, Berto and Bagutta First Novel Award for the debut La granda A (Giunti, 2016), the Fiesole Under 40 for Un giorno verrà (Bompiani, 2019), and the triumph of The Lake‘s Water is Never Sweet (Spiegel & Grau, 2025), published in over 20 countries, winner of the Campiello Prize and shortlisted for the Strega Prize. Caminito (b. Rome, 1988) is a political philosophy graduate and an editor. She is on the Board of the Società Italiana delle Letterate, editor of Letterate Magazine and part of the Centro Studi Alma Sabatini, which deals with sexism in the Italian language. All of her novels have been translated into German. Her latest book is Il male che non c’è (Bompiani, 2024). Latest work translated to German: Das große A (Wagenbach, 2024).
