Public financing and publishing. Autonomous Province of Bolzano South Tyrol: a law to support publishing projects linked to the territory

In 2015, a special provincial law (P. l. 9 of 27 July 2015) was established to support publishing projects related to the culture, history or geography of the South Tyrolean territory, as well as literary translations of works from Italian into German and from German into Italian, the official languages of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. The fund, which is managed by the Office for Lifelong Learning, Libraries and Audiovisuals for the Department for Italian Culture, makes it possible to stimulate authorial looks at the specificity of the South Tyrolean territory and to support publishing projects which, precisely because of this specificity, might have limited circulation or risk not being published. In order to guarantee the quality of the works, publishing houses are the recipients of the funding.
