Carlo Vecce
Philology, history, literature, along with visual culture, music, cinema and the forms of digital textuality: these are the main arteries of Carlo Vecce’s work, publications and research travel, with a special interest in Renaissance civilisation and, above all, the life and work of Leonardo da Vinci. He has been part of the Commission Vinciana since 1994. Vecce was a professor at the universities of Pavia, Chieti and Macerata and visiting professor in Paris, Los Angeles and Lyon, and is currently full professor of Italian literature at the University of Naples “Orientale.” As head of an international research project for the Academy of Lincei, he worked on the reconstruction of Leonardo’s library, curating exhibitions in Rome, Florence, Berlin and Stanford. Il sorriso di Caterina. La madre di Leonardo (Giunti, 2023) is his latest novel.
