Enrico Schleiff

Born in Luckenwalde in 1971, Enrico Schleiff studied physics at Charles University in Prague from 1990 to 1992 and at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz from 1992 to 1995. He completed his Master‘s thesis at the University of Basel and later received his PhD from the Department of Biochemistry at McGill University in Montreal. He subsequently worked as a research assistant at the University of Kiel as well as the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, where he qualified in cell biology and botany in 2003. Schleiff has been a professor at Goethe University in Frankfurt since 2007. In 2012, he was elected Vice Chancellor of the University, a role he held until 2018. In 2020 he was elected Chancellor, succeeding Birgitta Wolff. He was chairman of the board of the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies between 2018-2020.
