Alessandro Sanna

Alessandro Sanna is a shining star among the greats of contemporary illustration and is a three-time Andersen Prize winner. He is originally from Nogara (Verona) and is based in Mantua. He is a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and collaborates with dozens of international writers and editors (his works are present in many countries, including Germany, Spain, the United States and Japan). Sanna has also lent his pencil to the words of giants like Gianni Rodari and Italo Calvino, creating unforgettable editions. Among his latest works, it is worth mentioning “Crescendo” (Gallucci, 2023), a delicate story, accompanied by music specially composed and performed by Paolo Fresu, that starts with the shape of a mother's belly to tell of the wonder of life growing, from conception to birth.
