Patrizia Rinaldi

Patrizia Rinaldi

Of Naples’ many faces, Patrizia Rinaldi embodies her home and birthplace Campi Flegrei, the site of Europe’s most dangerous craters. A philosophy graduate specialising in theatrical writing, she curated literary projects at the Nisida Youth Prison before focusing exclusively on writing. Rinaldi has won many awards, including two Andersen Prizes, for best writer in 2016 and for best graphic novel with La compagnia dei soli (Sinnos, 2017). She also writes successfully for adults (the Blanca series edited by e/o, also a RAI series), challenging herself to relate to different genres and audiences. Her recent work includes Mare di pietra (Rizzoli, 2024), as well as her latest novel I disobbedienti del mondo nuovo (Giunti, 2024). Latest work translated to German: Die blinde Kommissarin (Ullstein, 2014).
