Ginevra Lamberti
As the title of her second novel suggests, Ginevra Lamberti’s story is better told backwards. Her latest book, Il pozzo vale più del tempo (Marsilio, 2023), about “a world that has ended and become cruel, and of what can be rebuilt,” was preceded in the bookshops by Tutti dormono nella valle (Marsilio, 2022), a semi-autobiographical reconstruction of her parents’ relationship, from Veneto to the Italian drug rehabilitation community, San Patrignano. Perché comincio dalla fine (Marsilio, Mondello Prize) appeared earlier, in 2019, preceded by La questione più che altro (Nottetempo, 2015), of which one chapter (Il Carnevale) was translated into German for the anthology “Venedig” (Wagenbach, 2017). She was born in San Patrignano in 1985. Latest work translated to German: Der aufruhr unserer Herzen (Piper, 2024).
