Elisabetta Gnone
Elisabetta Gnone (b. Genoa, 1965), managing director of women’s and preschool magazines at Disney from 1990 to 2000, created the internationally acclaimed W.I.T.C.H. comic book series at the turn of the millennium. Translated into 30 languages and published in over 70 countries, W.I.T.C.H. made a statement in the field of merchandising, becoming a manga and an animated series. In 2004, Gnone published the first in the very successful Fairy Oak saga, winning the hearts of millions of young readers around the world. The more recent new series Olga di carta, published in Italy by Salani, depicts a new, very delicate world in which the themes of fragility, vulnerability and the imperfections that make us human are addressed with grace and irony. Latest work translated to German: W.I.T.C.H 0.1 (Egmont Ehapa, 2006).
