Maurizio de Giovanni
Maurizio de Giovanni is the creator of Commissioner Ricciardi, a character who moves effortlessly from the pages of a book to the panels of a graphic novel, to TV and even theatre, in 14 novels, three graphic novels, a TV series and the stage show ‘Songs for Commissioner Ricciardi’. His other literary creations follow suit: the Bastardi di Pizzofalcone series (latest volume: Pioggia per i Bastardi di Pizzofalcone, Einaudi, 2024), Mina Settembre and Sara (final volume: Sorelle, Rizzoli, 2023), are all adapted for the screen. Neapolitan De Giovanni is an avid fan of his city’s football team. He has adapted Ken Kesey‘s One Flew over the Cuckoo‘s Nest and David Mamet’s American Buffalo for theatre.
