Chiara Carminati

Carminati writes stories, poems, novels, songs for children and teenagers in “Crazy Words” – from the name of her website, parolematte.it – and countless expressive forms. Carminati has taught poetry, holding workshops for teachers, trainers and passionate readers. She has received many awards, including the Andersen Award for Best Author in 2012, the Strega Girls and Boys Prize in 2016 with Fuori fuoco (Bompiani, 2014) and been nominated several times for Italy and H.C. Andersen International Award and the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. As a translator, she curated the Italian version of renowned illustrated books in English, German and French, and as an author, she has been published in Italy and abroad. Among her latest books are the novel Nella tua pelle (Bompiani, 2024) and La musica è di casa (Franco Cosimo Panini, 2023).
