Alessandro Campi
Alessandro Campi is a professor of political history at the University of Perugia, director of the Institute of Politics and the quarterly Rivista di Politica and an author and editor of works, translations and anthologies on Machiavelli, Schmitt, Morgenthau, Aron and Freund. He has devoted his life to the study of political thinking, with particular reference to the tradition of political realism, analysis of 19th-century authoritarian regimes and the in-depth exploration of topics, authors and movements representing the Italian and European right-wing. His most recent essays include L’ombra lunga del fascismo (Solferino, 2022, with Sergio Rizzo), Trasformazioni della politica (Rubbettino, 2022) Il fantasma della nazione (Marsile, 2023) and Machiavelliana. Immagini, percorsi, interpretazioni (Rubbettino, 2024).
