Marco Balzano

Sooner or later, everyone passes by “Cafè Royal,” the iconic bar of his latest book (Einaudi, 2023), and sooner or later all Marco Balzano’s novels win at least one prize.  From “The Son's Son” (Avagliano, 2010) to “When I Return” (Einaudi, 2021), the author has collected several of them, including the Corrado Alvaro First Novel, the Flaiano, the Campiello awards and the Elba, Bagutta and Mario Rigoni Stern awards with “I’m Staying Here” (Einaudi, 2018).  After some non-fiction and radio, television and podcast broadcasting, the children’s book “Remember, Dad?” appeared in 2023.  (Feltrinelli Kids). In Germany, “When I Return” became an audiobook read by actress Anna Schudt (Diogenes, 2021) and “I’m Staying Here” (Diogenes, 2020), climbed up the rankings by selling around one hundred thousand copies and receiving critical acclaim.
