Women and the World: Life and Adventure (Re)Drawn Through the Lens of Comics
Milo Manara and Igort stand as testament to the boundless nature of comics. Manara hails from South Tyrol, with Igort coming from Cagliari. Manara has ventured through a world of unlimited imagination, crafting a universe filled with dreams, desire, adventure and enchanting women. He has both brought his own stories to life and adapted others', such as his recent adaptation of Umberto Eco’s The Name of the Rose. While Igort has lived in Bologna and Paris, as well as Japan and Ukraine. He has founded publishing houses, edited magazines, and often alternates between invention and reality in his works, such as in his reportage-memoirs Quaderni giapponesi, russi e ucraini. A vibrant exchange of art and vision between two masters of contemporary Italian comics.
