Hunger, Modesty and Other Boundless Emotions
Content
In Anna Giurickovic Dato's latest novel, La Divoratrice, hunger pervades a profound exploration of eating disorders, addictions and compulsions. Meanwhile, Maddalena Fingerle’s new work, titled Il Pudore, delves into the transformative journey emerging from the pain of separation. These narratives of obsession and estrangement, transformation and new-found insight, are crafted by two contemporary authors. Both share an Italian mother tongue and surnames with cross-border significance: Fingerle, rooted in Bolzano with its Germanic ties, and Giurickovic Dato, from Catania with Serbian echoes.
