Generative Artificial Intelligence has triggered a rapid transformation of the technological and regulatory environment for the book world. With the AI Act, Europe has established clear rules for the transparency of generative AI and the possibility of reserving rights and licensing copyrighted content, while other parts of the world are exploring different solutions. In this context, publishers are challenged to rethink their practices and to reflect on the future impact of AI on the sector.
