Destination Frankfurt: Leipzig Book Fair

In the context of the 'Destination Frankfurt activities, the journey of Italy Guest of Honour includes a stop at the Leipzig Book Fair 2024, one of the most important trade fairs for the German publishing industry and a meeting and dialogue space for readers, authors and artists from Germany and around the world.

From Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 March, the Berlin Institute of Culture and the Italian Embassy in Berlin will be present at the Leipzig Book Fair with a rich and targeted programme.

The programme is organised in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Italian Culture (CiCi) and includes a large number of works and authors, from 20th-century classics to graphic novels, from great masters of narrative to newcomers, and from new translations to TV adaptations. Italian authors, translators and scriptwriters will also be present at the “Leipzig liest” evenings (Leipzig reads).

At Italian Institute of Culture in Berlin's stand, you will be able to find new books in Italian and German translation and have an opportunity to exchange thoughts, interests and emotions with our writers, translators, editors and journalists.
