Roots and the future: Italy 36 years ago and Italy today

Turin is another essential stopover on our fascinating trip with Destination Frankfurt.

The Turin International Book Fair is Italy's most important publishing trade fair. It offers an exceptional opportunity to discover the latest new releases and a meeting place for publishers, writers, booksellers, librarians, agents, illustrators, translators and, of course, passionate readers.

To mark this prestigious cultural initiative, which will welcome around 222,000 guests, Italy Guest of Honour has organised the panel "1988-2024, Italy in Frankfurt: roots and the future." In 1988, the Turin Book Fair was established and Italy was the first Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair. The panel has included talks on the changes in the Italian publishing industry over the past 36 years.
