Destination Frankfurt: 2024 Guest of Honour Italy at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair

On the way with “Destination Frankfurt”, Italy Guest of Honour prepares for the Frankfurter Buchmesse by participating in the Bologna Children’s Book Fair (BCBF), the April event dedicated to publishing for children and young people. Every year, the BCBF brings together editors, editorial staff, press and illustrators.  

This year, 1,500 exhibitors from around 100 countries and regions around the world attended the sixty-first BCBF. 

Two meetings have enriched the BCBF:

• Monday 8 April from 11.30 a.m. to 12.45 p.m.: “The Italian general book market 2023, including a focus on the children’s market/ Destination Frankfurt. The panel was organised by the Italian Editors’ Association (IEA) as part of the “Destination Frankfurt” activities, and presented by Bruno Giancarli, Italian Publishers Association Studies Office (AIE), who shared insights with the audience. 
• Tuesday 9 April, from 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: “Storytelling, characters and illustrations: the Italian children’s publishing abroad. Destination Frankfurt”. Organised by Italy Guest of Honour, AIE and BCBF as part of the “Destination Frankfurt” activities.
