Vincenzo Latronico

The ‘sliding door’ that decided Vincenzo Latronico’s permanent transfer to Germany was an e-mail from his university lecturer supporting his application for a scholarship in the US. The choice to stay inevitably imposed itself. It began with La chiave di Berlino (Einaudi, 2023), an educational novel the author dedicated to the city where he has lived since 2009. His previous bio-bibliographic geography includes his birthplace, Rome; Paris, where he set the debut of Ginnastica e Rivoluzione (Bompiani, 2008), and Milan, where he studied, the location of La cospirazione delle colombe (Bompiani, 2011), winner of the Naples and Bergamo prizes. The loop closes with Perfection (Fitzcarraldo Editions, 2023), translated in 20 countries, which returns to Berlin. Latronico also writes for "La Stampa". Latest work translated to German: Die Perfektionen (Claassen, 2023).
