Marco Balzano

Sooner or later, everyone passes by Café Royal, the iconic bar of his book (Einaudi, 2023), and all Marco Balzano’s novels win at least one prize. From Il figlio del figlio (Avagliano, 2010) to When I Return (Einaudi, 2021), Balzano has won several, including the Corrado Alvaro First Novel, the Flaiano, the Campiello and the Elba, Bagutta and Mario Rigoni Stern awards with I’m Staying Here (Penguin, 2020). After non-fiction and radio, television and podcast broadcasts, came the children’s book Ti ricordi, papà? in 2023. (Feltrinelli Kids). In Germany, the audiobook Quando tornerò was read by actress Anna Schudt (Diogenes, 2021) and I’m Staying Here (Diogenes, 2020), sold around 100,000 copies to critical acclaim.
