Welcome Italy! – The Blue Sofa welcomes this year’s Guest of Honour of the Frankfurter Buchmesse
The Bertelsmann Representative Office welcomes the Guest of Honour at this year’s Frankfurter Buchmesse – Italy – in Berlin.
After a brief preview of the programme, Italian authors Viola Ardone (Oliva Denaro, published in German under the title Was wissen sie vom Freisein), Marco Balzano (Café Royal, published in German under the same title) and Igiaba Scego (Cassandra a Mogadiscio, German title Kassandra in Mogadischu) will present their latest books.
Ariane Binder and Thomas Böhm will be moderating the book presentations and discussions.
The event is being jointly organised with Frankfurter Buchmesse and the Italian Publishers Association, with the kind support of the Italian Embassy in Berlin.
About the Blue Sofa
The Blue Sofa is one of the longest-running and most successful literary formats in the German-speaking world.
Since its founding in 2000, more than 3,100 authors have sat here. The most prominent guests have included Nobel Prize winners such as Mikhail Gorbachev, Günter Grass, Herta Müller, Orhan Pamuk, Joseph Stiglitz, Olga Tokarczuk, Mario Vargas Llosa and Mo Yan.
